In short
- How long: for as long as you own the home where we did the work.
- What’s covered: our workmanship, meaning the labour on the work listed on your invoice.
- What it costs to claim: nothing. The inspection is free, even if the fault turns out not to be ours.
- What you need to do: pay the invoice in full, and tell us within 30 days of noticing a problem.
The terms
1. Who gives this warranty
This warranty is given by the licensed contractor who did your work, named on your invoice. For work done by Plaza Works Pty Ltd, trading as Reveo Plumbing, the details are in the box above.
2. Who it covers
The person who booked and paid for the work, while they own the home at the address on the invoice. It doesn’t pass to a new owner if the home is sold. A new owner still has their own rights under the law (section 11).
3. What it covers
A defect in our workmanship on the work listed on your invoice, at the address on your invoice, for as long as you own that home.
4. What we will do
- We reply within 2 business days and book a visit.
- We inspect the work. The inspection is free, whatever the cause turns out to be.
- If the problem is our workmanship, we fix it at no charge for labour.
- If it can’t be fixed, we refund what you paid for the labour on that part of the work.
- If the problem isn’t covered, we tell you why, and any work is quoted at a fixed price first. Nothing is done without your OK.
- For parts we supplied that fail, we handle the claim with the maker for you.
5. What you need to do
- Pay the invoice for the work in full.
- Tell us within 30 days of noticing the problem, by phone or email, with your invoice number or the address, and a photo or video if you can.
- Give us reasonable access to the home to inspect and fix it.
6. What it doesn’t cover
- Parts, fittings and appliances. They carry the maker’s warranty (see 4.6).
- Parts or fixtures you supplied. Our installation of them is still covered.
- Normal wear of parts that wear with use, such as washers, O-rings, seals, cartridges and anodes.
- Drains that block again because of tree roots, wipes, fat or other objects, unless the cause is a fault in pipe work we installed or repaired.
- Damage from misuse, accidents, storms, flooding, ground movement or freezing.
- Work that has since been changed or repaired by someone else.
- A fault we found and wrote on your invoice that you chose not to have fixed.
- A temporary or partial repair you chose instead of the repair we recommended, where that choice is written on your quote or invoice. The repair we actually did is still covered.
7. Costs of claiming
We pay our own costs of inspecting and fixing a covered claim. The inspection is free even when the problem isn’t covered. If we ask you to spend money to make a covered claim, send us the receipt and we refund it within 14 days.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future work. A change never reduces the warranty on work already done: your work stays covered by the terms that applied when it was done.
9. Notifiable work
Where your work is notifiable plumbing work, the licensed contractor lodges a Form 4 with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) and gives you a copy.
10. If you’re not happy with how we handle a claim
Tell us first and we’ll work to fix it. You can also ask the QBCC to look at defective plumbing or drainage work of any value: within 12 months of noticing it, and for structural defects up to 6 years and 6 months after the work was finished.
11. Your other rights
This warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods or services to which the warranty relates. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including any right to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
