Burst pipes
A burst pipe needs the water off first. The main stop valve is at the water meter, usually near the front boundary. Once it’s off, we find the failed section, cut it out and replace it, then check the rest of the run while we’re there.
Hidden leaks
Not every leak shows. Water can escape under a slab, inside a wall or underground in the yard for months, and the first sign is the water bill. Signs to look for:
- A water bill higher than usual with no change in how you use water
- The water meter moving when every tap is off
- Damp patches, bubbling paint or mould on walls
- A part of the lawn that stays green and soft
- The sound of running water when nothing is on
How we find it
We start with the meter test, then isolate sections of pipe to narrow down where the water is going. Once the area is found, we open up only what’s needed to repair it.
Everyday leaks
Dripping taps, leaking toilet cisterns and weeping pipe joints waste more water than most people think. A cistern that runs constantly can waste hundreds of litres a day. These are quick repairs.
